Safety is our number one concern.  We want to make sure every player has dressed appropriately and ready to go.  Without the proper gear, someone could get hurt — either kicked in the shins or outside shivering.  Please make every effort to have your player dressed to play.  Below is a list of recommended items to have at each session:


Shin-guards (Required for Practice and Games)



Program Uniform (Jersey)

Jerseys must be tucked into shorts during game

Each team will receive their own color jersey for the season.

Practice Attire

No spaghetti straps are allowed.

Cleats and shin guards are required.

Shorts  SOAR is a Christian rec league with a certain standard of modesty. Shorts must not be too short, and jerseys must not be longer then shorts.

Girls – Shorts must be modest with a 5” inseam minimum.  Please see picture below of US Women’s soccer team for an example of acceptable short length.


Boys – waistline must be on the waist and not below


Socks are to be worn over shin guards.


Soccer shoes are to be rubber (no metal cleats).


Water bottle  Please bring filled water bottle to practice/games.


Soccer ball  size 3 – Preschool, U6/U8 | size 4 – U10/U12 | size 5 – U14 and older


Bag to keep all of your equipment in (optional, but highly recommended)


Cold weather

Long sleeve shirts (worn under jersey)

No hoodies should be worn during play on field (hoods could be grabbed, resulting in injury)

Do not wear jeans during practice or games.
